Unbelieveable

These Amazon losers, and the shitty customers they sent me, just won't die. I received this a short while ago:

Greetings from Amazon Payments.

We are writing to let you know that the credit card issuer has contacted us
on behalf of the buyer of the transaction listed below.
Order date: 04/23/2008
Order number: 102-3490352-2678665
Items Purchased:
1 of (4GB Touch Screen 2.8" TFT MP3/MP4 Music/Video Player + Accessories) for 69.95

Shipping Address:

carlos devora
19329 Elaine DR.
Fontana
California
92336
US

In order to respond to the credit card issuer on your behalf, we need you
to provide us with proof of delivery, which we will provide to the credit card issuer.

So, I sent the following heart-felt response:

This customer supposedly supplied the wrong address (which Amazon verified) and has spent months blaming me for shipping it there. Since the tracking number is already in your system under this order, I don't know why you need for me to go in and copy and paste this information from your own website.

This customer was just another bad customer that Amazon supplied to me. This customer, and Amazon for that matter, have wasted enough of my company's time and resources. I am supplying this information for the last time. I do not want to hear this, or anything else from your company every again.

Tracking Number, to the address supplied by the Customer, and Amazon: EO023874157US

The End of the Saga

Well, despite being total moronic assholes until the bitter end, I finally received my money a few days ago... plus interest.

So, if you find yourself in the same boat the rest of us did, you can have some peace of mind that eventually you will get your money back. Complaining about it won't do any good. Begging for it won't help. Going to the Better Business Bureau or other online entity is pointless. Threatening them with pipe bombs won't get your money back either.

I took the begging, comedic, and public approach. "TheJames" took the crazy, in your face, "I'm going to kill you and piss on your shallow grave" approach. We both still waited out out 90 days, for the funds to be returned.

While letting it go for the first 90 days makes sense, both "TheJames" and I both had last minute bullshit bailout attempts. They told him that there was now a claim against him and they were holding the money longer, and they told me that the money was on it's way... not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times before they ever bothered to send it.

So... in the end... now that I finally got my $2000+ dollars back.... I know your dying to know what I ended up spending the money on, right? Well, right before I was paid, customs put a $2300.00 shipment worth of phones I ordered on hold. I had to reorder the entire shipment, so the Amazon money is now sitting in Wilmington, Ohio while I deal with Customs and DHL's PISS POOR Customer Service.

For the most part, I am done posting on this blog, but it will be here as a reminder, and help for anyone who wants to read it. If you want to continue to follow what part of my business life I make time to share, you can follow the links of this page, to view my other blogs.

If you are reading this because Amazon Stole Your Money too, then you should speak out, complain, file a report with the BBB,email theconsumerist.com, open your own website, and let your story be heard. Don't let these Fuckers get away with it.

Amazon Responds

It took them 5 days, and several emails later, but they finally responded. Not that it fixes the problem... they are still in violation of their own policies.

Greetings from Amazon.com.

Thank you for contacting us. The final settlement date for your account will be August 16, 2008. At that time the funds will disburse to your bank account on file. Please allow five banking days for the funds to reach your bank account.

Dear Amazon,

Since I STILL have not received my payment, I am left to wonder, WTF?!?

Total Owed to Me: $1578.94
Emails Requesting My Money: 100
Emails I have left to send you: ???

Dear TheJames,

Remind me never to piss you off. I think, that if you had the option to kill one person a day, you would simply find new and exciting things to do with Jeff's body day after day.

Not for nothing, but I work all day, come home, and work all night. I ignore phone calls all day, drilling through emails all night. I barely had time to remember to send a single one liner to Amazon per day. You, however, seem to have all the free time in the world. I am truly jealous. Clearly, I am doing something wrong.

1st Payment Received

My first payment of $505.42 was received, and immediately removed from that bank account. When I get a chance, I will block any future Amazon access to that account. It's not that big of a deal, I do not keep money in there, but you know what I mean.

The Crazies Out There

It does amaze me that with all the crazy people out there who randomly shoot people, no one bothers to take a plane flight out to one of Amazon's warehouses, and blow them to pieces.

It also amazes me that with all the suicides that happen each day, not one of those people actually tries to rob a bank or something first. If your going to die, why not try and get away with it? I mean, what the hell, right?

Day 93

Dear Amazon,

I continue to get emails like this:

We have received a report from a customer that one of your images was incorrect or failed our image standards. After researching the issue, we have removed the image for B0013SKSY6: Apple Ipod 8-in-1 Black FM Transmitter Car Kit with Remote and Car Adapter for Ipod 3rd, 4th, 5th Generation, Mini, Photo, U2, Nano 2nd + 3rd Gen, Video, Classic, Touch, based on the validity or quality of the image.

Despite the fact that I do not sell on your system (gee, I wonder why?), I have never sold this product, nor do I have any clue what this image is even for, I continue to get stuff like this semi-regularly. I think your system just misses me.

Plus Interest

Ok, so I am sure you have noticed I always said $2073.96 Plus Interest. If you add up my 2 payments, they total $2084.36. That is a difference of $10.40, which would be .02% interest over a 12 months period, which is arguably the going interest rate for a savings account.

Of course, if I had access to the original $2073.96 from the beginning, I could have made a 20% or more return, each month, buying and selling merchandise. Just think of all that lost revenue.

Double Amazon Emails

There was a question about the $500 paid to me in the last post, and the $2000 I was waiting on. There were 2 Amazon Accounts I was running at the same time, that paid out on alternating weeks. According to the email below, they are paying me a week early.

Greetings from Amazon.com.

Thank you for contacting us. Your funds in the amount of $505.42 have been released and should arrive within five banking days of today's date. If you should experience further delays in the disbursement of your funds, please contact us at payments-investigate@amazon.com.

Day 90

Dear Amazon,

Well, this is it, my 90 days are finished, and I have served my time. According to Section #5h "a period of 90 days following the initial date of suspension", that means I can expect my money on the next business day right?

Yeah.... right. You didn't really think Amazon would allow such a thing to happen do you? Actually honoring THEIR end on the agreement? Oh, hell no. I just logged on, and it said that my next settlement date was going to be August 12th, 2008. WOW, I am shocked, the 90 days actually just misses the settlement date, giving you 2 more weeks to hold onto my money, earning you even MORE interest. What scum your company is.

Day 89

Dear Amazon,

Since I had one more day to kill, I thought I would give you some MORE Positive Feedback Highlights that made me such a HORRIBLE Amazon Seller.

"I purchased a digital MP4 player from this seller. The service I received was excellent and very timely. When I received the product, I realized that I had made a mistake in my purchase. The seller agreed to refund me in full. The transaction was completed within a few days of the return. I was very happy with my service and, based on this, would recommend this seller without reservation." <--- Do I really need to comment?

"Fantastic service! Item arrived so quickly and perfectly packaged, together with very useful brochures etc on the product. Thanks so much." <--- No, please, stop with all the praises.

"Low price, and fast, reliable service. Pleasure doing business." <--- I think that sums my business up pretty well.

Day 88

Dear Amazon,

Yesterday covered my neutrals (WHICH ARE NOT NEGATIVES!), and my negatives. Today, let's hit upon the highlights of my positives, that no one has ever bothered to look at.

"Arrived in an excellent condition and a timely manner." <--- Hear that Miss Negative from yesterday!?!?

"The customer service was phenomenal. Would come back anytime." <--- Only if you go to my website.

"This item is awesome, I like it a lot." <--- I have hundreds of feedback that say something similar.

"Excellent seller! Their service is unbelievable and it was my very best experience of purchasing products from internet! They truly touched my heart because they went out of their way to deliver Pop-up-toy by Galt that I’ve ordered so it would arrive on time for my baby’s birthday. It came in perfect condition, perfectly packaged, and my son absolutely loved this toy, it made him so happy!" <--- Best feedback I have ever received!

"I sent it back and got my money back. The people over at portable-fun are very courteous and were great to work with. It came really fast, especially considering I am overseas. Would buy from again." <--- Holy CRAP! This MUST be why you kicked me off!!!!

"The MP3 Player works." <--- Yeah.... And?!?!

"No battery remaining indication in terms of percentage." <--- Yeah, let's lever negative for that.

"I received the product in appalling conditions, incomplete and does not work." <--- Never returned item, or contacted me in ANY way!

Day 51

Dear Amazon,

Yesterday, I filed the following letter with the Better Business Bureau. They responded back to me today, saying they forwarded the letter over to you. I wonder if anything will happen because of it? I was not surprised to see the thousands of complaints before mine. I WAS surprised that despite thousands of complaints, you were still in good standing.

"The feedback system is one sided, and impossible to keep a clean record. As a result, one morning I woke up and found a negative, a neutral, and a claim against my company. Without giving me time to correct any of these issues, my account was shut down, and told I would not be paid for 90 days, this was 50 days ago.

I have written to the company every single day requesting my money back. There is simply no morally justifiable reason for this. They say it's to protect MY customer, but I have respected my customers more than Amazon has respected me.

I have inventory still on my shelf, and the business has all but closed. Because of Amazon's unfair seller practices, I have thousands on my shelf, and thousands "on hold".

This is more than inconvenient, I genuinely can no longer even put food on my table, and that is the truth. The company stands behind "Section 2" on the agreement that says they can hold all my money. The part about paying me every two weeks for money that I earned, is simply ignored.

Amazon is collecting 3 months worth of interest on MY money. This is simply unacceptable. They do this because in the time it takes to file a small claims, they will have already returned the money. This is just legal sidestepping.

I have had to return $1000 to customers for no particular reason, other than to try and protect my investment.

I could go on for an hour, but the bottom line is this: My business was railroaded, the company does not care how this has affected me or my family, I have thousands in inventory, and the company still owes me thousands."

Well, this is it, the half way point. 45 emails ignored because of Section 2. It clearly does not matter how much financial distress I am in, your company simply does not care. I honestly can't believe that you threw away a good, honest seller because some project dwellers that don't know how to contact Customer Support before leaving negative feedback. Not to mention how your system blatantly ignores the 100+ buyers that could not be bothered to leave feedback at all. Would you propose I go to their house begging for feedback? Maybe I could get it at gunpoint? Just to offset some silly math equation? If you don't want me to sell for you, that's fine. Just give me my money back, I earned it.

Over the past few months, your company has sent me some really low life customers. Many of them seemed to be illiterate Project Dwellers. You may have kicked me off, but I am so much happier now that I don't have to deal with the scum your company was referring to me. Very rude and demanding people. Whine Whine Whine. Dear Amazon,

I had noticed another seller on your system, who has nothing to do with me, was suffering from Amazon's amazing inability to do math. The user "Las Vegas Warehouse" has a 50% positive Feedback rating. However, he has two positives, and one neutral. Last time I checked, two positives, and a neutral, is not 50% positive. In FACT, even the neutral comment was irrelevant, in my opinion, and should not even be counted as a friggin' negative, which is what your system is clearly saying. However, you guys will just shut him down anyway, and steal his money, just like you did to me.

Dear Amazon,

This morning my wife was fired from her job too. So, now we have absolutely no money coming in at all. Sadly, I am not making that up. I am responsible for a wife, baby, dog, two cats and four fish. I literally have less than $100 to my name. However, between the money your company stole, and the inventory I can't sell, I have $5000 of my savings tied up in the mess that is your company. I need the money I earned, I should not have to email you every day to get my money back.

Day 11

Dear Amazon,

After looking into filing Small Claims against your company, it appears you can get away with this because while you hold my money for 90 Days, it would take much longer for the case to ever be brought before a judge. At that point, you would have long since returned the money. However, the damages done in the meantime are devastating. If you don't want me as a seller, that's fine. However, you have no valid reason to hold onto all that money I earned. I want my money back.

Dear Amazon,

Tonight we went out drinking with our friends. Sadly, they paid for us because Amazon needs to hold onto the money I earned for the next 80 days. I will be able to pay them back until sometime in August. Because, after all, look at how many of the people that have been screaming for refunds.

Actually, I must admit, I have been handing out refunds like candy. This way I can get the item back, then just resell it on eBay. Not that eBay is any better, it's just that they aren't treating me like a thief. Not this week, at least.

Dear Amazon,

Could you do me a favor and write a letter to Wachovia Dealer Services? My car payment is due, and I need for you to explain to them that I won't be able to pay for it on time because you need to hold $658.45 just in case MY customer wants a $30.00 refund. Because I am clearly a thief, and I can't handle refunds to my own customers, and Amazon needs to babysit my money for 90 days, while they collect the interest. I could do it myself, but it would so much more believable if you wrote it.

In fact, I think I will start a blog about it. I will forward the information about it when I set it up. I hope you will visit often. When I get a few good entries listed, I will notify www.consumerist.com and anyone else I can think of for media coverage. I think this will be fun.

Day 1

Dear Amazon,

I was really hoping that Amazon would care more for the sellers than eBay. I guess not. I say this because all you did was look at some blanket numbers, and not a situation. I am an excellent seller. You could easily see that my Positive Feedback isn't just 5 stars each, it is people actually thanking me for the good solid customer service I provide. If this email is not read, and my case is not reviewed by someone who is willing to look at my sales as a whole, then your entire system is flawed, and you are doing your sellers, and customers, an injustice.

1) This A-Z Claim was because of the customers SPAM filter and never saw my response. I did my part as a seller on the Amazon system. This is beyond my control.

2) I have some 100 orders, 10 feedback, and one negative. All you see is 10% bad feedback, not 99% satisfied customers. I tried to get more positive, but few bothered to respond. This is also beyond my control. The ones that did take the time, gave me five stars for my service. This should definitely count in my favor.

3) Last week I was sent an email about how I am not a good enough seller for you. This email was because ONE customer left negative feedback and she ever did email me. Then, after I responded, I never did hear from her then either. So, I honestly can't say what really happened. I could have gotten her to retract the negative if she had ever responded.

4) My first A-Z claim was someone over 70, and honestly did not know what he was doing. He also left two negative feedback that he retracted when it was explained what he had done. He did not wait long enough for the item to be returned and felt I was not going to help him. Again, customers that don't understand the system do not make me a bad seller.

5) If it took me 3 months to get 10 feedback, no way I could get 100 in a week before the next uninformed customer stepped in to complain next.

Can you see how long and detailed this message is? This is how I contact every ONE of my customers. Please do NOT make me another statistic. There is absolutely NOTHING else as a seller I can do for my customers. The ones that don't read the listings, are older, impatient, hardly speak English, or don't read their emails... these are the people that are hardest to reach out to. No matter how bad of a situation my customers have had, I have been there for each and every one of them, resolving their situations. Even if it is the Post Office, I still pick up the phone for them, and track the package, but I can only do that when they contact me first.

Please reconsider my standing in your community.
